ECCT organizes event to learn from Taiwan’s Food and Drug Administration
On 11 August, the European Chamber of Commerce in Taiwan (ECCT) held a special lunch with guest of honour Dr Yeh Ming-kung, director-general of the Taiwan Food and Drug Administration (TFDA) and Liu Li-ling, director of the TFDA's Division of Medicinal Products.
The event was attended by around 90 ECCT members, guests and senior officials from the TFDA. In his opening remarks, Dr Yeh said he aims to foster an open attitude towards industry and innovation, and engage in a more open dialogue with NGOs.
Director Liu also described the TFDA’s mission, which is to assure the quality and safety of food and pharmaceutical products, and to facilitate cooperation with international counterparts. After the presentations , the floor was opened for Q&A, during which Director-General Yeh introduced several of his senior colleagues, who answered questions and exchanged views with ECCT members.
