Cyprus Presidency of the Council of the EU
On 1 January 2026, Cyprus took over the presidency of the Council of the EU.
The presidency rotates among EU countries every 6 months. During this 6-month period, the presidency chairs meetings at every level in the Council, helping to ensure the consistency of the EU's work.
