Ukraine attacks Crimean oil-drilling platform for second time in a week, Tass reports
Ukrainian forces attacked a drilling platform at the Black Sea that was owned by a Crimean oil an gas company. Tass reported that local officials stated on Sunday (26 June) that it was the second strike in a row.
Chernomorneftegaz operates the platform. Russian-backed officials took Naftogaz, Ukraine's national gas company, from Chernomorneftegaz in 2014 as part of Moscow’s annexation.
Tass quoted a member from Crimea's emergency service as saying, "It's bombardment by the Ukrainian armed forces, there are not casualties." It did not provide any further information.
Three people were reported to have been injured by the Ukrainian strike, which saw three platforms shut down and seven others left without compensation. Chernomorneftegaz has been placed under US sanctions and European Union sanctions.
