The role of quality assurance in advancing inclusive upper secondary VET in Slovenia

The primary objective of the Peer Review was to obtain expert feedback in order to strengthening the role of quality assurance in promoting inclusive upper secondary VET in Slovenia.

The Peer Review focused on the role of quality assurance in advancing inclusive upper secondary VET in Slovenia. More specifically, peers discussed how the national monitoring and evaluation methodology related to Indicator 8, in combination with Indicator 1, could be improved to better assess the inclusiveness of upper secondary VET in Slovenia, as well as how the formulation of Indicator 8 contributes to promoting inclusiveness. They also explored how existing mechanisms, measures, and services aimed at advancing inclusive education, including upper secondary VET could be more effectively integrated into the national monitoring and evaluation framework. 

The peer reviewers provided the host country with ideas to strengthen the monitoring and evaluation of inclusiveness in VET. This included clarifying the definition of inclusiveness and establishing a shared understanding across stakeholders. Peers also discussed improving the systematic collection and use of data, including setting clear objectives and developing quantitative and qualitative indicators beyond Indicator 8 to better monitor progress. In addition, they explored ways to better monitor vulnerable groups through anonymised and indirect data collection.
