Russian missile and shell strikes continue in Chernihiv despite Russian statements indicating a reduction in military activity, British military intelligence stated on Thursday.
The Ministry of Defence stated that Russian forces still hold positions to the east, west and center of Kyiv, despite the withdrawal of some units. "Heavy fighting is likely to take place in suburbs of the capital in the coming days."
The ministry stated that heavy fighting continued in Mariupol. This was a key objective for Russian forces. It also said that Ukrainian forces are still in control of the city's centre.
