Commission disburses more than €3 billion to three member states under NextGenerationEU
The European Commission has disbursed a total of €3.07 billion to three member states – Austria, Croatia and Belgium - under the Recovery and Resilience Facility (RRF), the centrepiece of NextGenerationEU. Austria received €1.62bn, which will notably support the development of sustainable mobility, help implement carbon taxation, support the health sector and reform pensions. Croatia received €835.6 million, which will finance the fight against corruption, the development of hydrogen, improve water management and support the health sector. Belgium received €614m which will finance the improvement of railways, strengthen Belgium's cybersecurity and support the development of research.
