'Je suis Charlie': Parliament pays tribute to victims of Charlie Hebdo attack
Minute of silence: President Martin Schulz is joined by MEPs from all the political parties together with European Parliament staff and members of the public as they pay tribute to the victims of yesterday's attackA minute of silence was held at the European Parliament to commemorate the victims of the deadly attack on French magazine Charlie Hebdo. MEPs and staff members were joined by members of the public as they stood outside the Parliament building in Brussels on 8 January to pay their respect to the 12 people who died the previous day. “Like you, like all of us, I am Charlie,” said European Parliament President Martin Schulz in a short statement before the minute of silence.
MEPs have strongly condemned the attack on the satirical magazine and expressed their condolences to the families and the friends of the victims.
