20140109PHT32219_originalIf photography is a passion of yours, the European Parliament would like to invite you to take part in its photography contest. During 2014, a different topic will be announced once per month up to the European elections in May. Send in your photo and you might be the winner of the month and have your photo published on the Parliament's website. One of these monthly winners will be invited to Strasbourg in July to complete a full photo reportage on the newly elected parliament.

How to take part
You can submit your photo and entry form via email. The second topic is tobacco and the deadline for submissions is Sunday 23 February at midnight CET. The jury winner will be announced in the week that follows. For inspiration, click on the link for the article on the right of this page.

Among the submitted photos, an editorial committee will select the ten best entries and then pick the winner of the month. This will automatically make them a finalist for the jury prize. At the same time, the ten best photos will be showcased on our social media pages where everyone can vote for their favourite. The most liked photo and the person who took it will then be awarded a public prize. Both of these photographers will be invited to the first sitting of the newly elected chamber after the European elections in May, where they will get the chance to create their own photo-reportage of the event.
The jury winner for the January topic of 'cars and vans emissions' is Stéphane Debrulle. The article on this topic - to be illustrated with the winning photo - will be published during the second February plenary sitting, when the report on CO2 emissions will be voted on.

The public winner nominees are waiting for your likes! Click on the link here to vote for your favourite!
