NATO Secretary General Jens Steltenberg (pictured) said on Wednesday (9 November) that it was encouraging to see Ukrainian forces be able to liberate more territory. This is after Sergei Shoigu, Russian defence minister, ordered his troops to leave Kherson.
Stoltenberg spoke in London, where he was meeting Rishi Sunak, British Prime Minister. He said that the Ukrainian armed forces have won victories and made gains. However, he said it is also important to receive support from the United Kingdom and NATO allies.
