20140602PHT48704_original 'On the way to vote - elections day' was the fifth and final theme of our guest photographer contest. This month's article is illustrated with pictures taken by Simeon Lazarov, who is our latest winner. To decide who the overall winner should be, vote for your favourite before noon CET on 10 June. The jury winner and the public winner will be announced on 13 June. They will both win a trip to Strasbourg where they can create a photo reportage as the EP's guest photographer.

About the photographer
Simeon Lazarov was selected by the jury as the winner for the elections day theme. He is a 23-year-old student in Bulgaria, with a passion for photography. Lazarov describes his photography projects as challenges he sets for himself. With this project, he aimed to express his views about the European elections in 2014 and their importance to our future. He explained: "On the streets of Bulgaria I met and photographed different people and asked them what Europe means to them and why they voted."
