Labour MEPs welcome Miliband’s commitment to Europe
On 23 September, Labour leader Ed Miliband said: "Our future lies inside, not outside the European Union," and attacked David Cameron for “pandering” to UKIP.
Responding to Miliband’s speech to the Labour Party conference, MEP Glenis Willmott, Labour’s leader in Europe, said: “Obsessed by UKIP, hostage to his own backbenchers, another term of David Cameron will see Britain further isolated in Europe, impotent, friendless, unable to deliver reform, drifting towards the exit.
“Only under a Labour government is our future in the EU secure, only with Ed Miliband as prime minister will we be able to achieve change in Europe.
“The choice at this election is between a prime minister for the privileged few, or a prime minister who fights for the hardworking majority, in Britain and in Europe.”
