SHARE:
In the wake of this summer’s terrorist attacks in Europe, EU Counter-Terrorism Coordinator Gilles de Kerchove will debate the EU fight against terrorism with Civil Liberties Committee MEPs on Monday (26 September) at 15-16h.
On 31 August, MEPs debated the need to step up the fight against radicalisation, the efficiency and expediency of current counter-terrorism measures following this summer’s attacks in France and Germany with representatives of the Commission and the Presidency of the Council. They called on EU member states to ensure the full implementation of all existing tools, such as the EU Passenger Name Record (PNR) system. As Mr de Kerchove was unable to take part in that debate, he will attend today’s Civil Liberties Committee meeting instead.
The meeting will be webstreamed and can be followed live.
