Today (27 May), the European Commission and the European Central Bank (ECB) will host the annual joint conference on European financial integration and stability, which takes place online this year. Mairead McGuinness, Commissioner for financial stability, financial services and Capital Markets Union, and Luis de Guindos, vice president of the European Central Bank, will give keynote speeches at the event.

Discussions will focus on the implications of COVID-19 for the EU financial system over the medium term, and on climate change and the EU financial system. As in previous years, the European Commission will also take the opportunity to publish the annual edition of its European Financial Integration and Stability Review (EFSIR). The Review examines financial market developments during the pandemic and its impact on financial stability and integration. It also focusses on the challenges related to sustainability, including the growth in the market for sustainable investment and the stability risks linked to climate change.

Participants are welcome to ask questions to @EU_Finance using the hashtag #EFSIR. You can find out more via the Conference's webpage.
