#Brexit - EU Chief Negotiator Michel Barnier tests positive for #COVID-19

Michel Barnier, the EU's Chief Negotiator on the future EU-UK relationship has announced that he is #COVID-19 positive. EU Reporter wishes him a very speedy recovery.

The news comes a day after the EU’s negotiating document was transmitted to the United Kingdom (18 March), following a consultation and agreement with senior diplomats in the Council Working Party on the United Kingdom on Friday.

Barnier sent a tweet in English saying that he was doing well and was in good spirits. He wrote that he and his team were following the necessary instructions, adding that “we will get through this together”

Barnier also sent a video message in French adding that he wrote a book called ‘Chacun pour Tous’ (everone for all) in response to the environmental crisis. He said that it was the approach taken by the President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen and that it was the approach to Coronavirus. He said that solidarity, unity and benevolence were also important.

President of the European Commission Ursula von der Leyen, wished Barnier a good recovery.
