The Commission disburses third payment to UNRWA
On 17 October, the European Commission processed a payment of €16 million to the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA).
This payment follows the first tranche of €50m for UNRWA which was disbursed on 7th March 2024 following the exchange of letters between the Commission and UNRWA and the second payment of €16m on 31 May, completing the disbursement of the €82m allocated for the agency for 2024.
This third disbursement is in line with the agreed conditions between the Commission and UNRWA to enhance the neutrality processes and controls systems in the Agency.
