European Green Party Co-Chair on a mission in #Turkey

160829TurksInEU2Right after the vote in the European Parliament on the temporary freeze of EU accession talks with Turkey, the Co-Chair of the European Green Party Monica Frassoni together with a delegation of European Greens composed by the Members of the European Parliament Ska Keller, Ernest Maragall, Tatjana Zdanoka and  Heidi Hautala will be in Ankara and Istanbul until Sunday 27 November.

They will meet with representatives from all political parties including HDP. They will hold meetings in the Turkish Parliament, in the EU delegation to Ankara and one with the Deputy Minister for EU Affairs Ali Şahin.

In Istanbul they will meet with representatives from Amnesty International, Open Society Foundation, Cumhuriyet, Journalists Union of Turkey.

The main focus of the talks will be the necessity of keeping the dialogue open with the European Union and the internal political situation, with a special focus on repression of all opposition voices: journalists, professionals, Members of Parliament and Kurdish Mayors.
