An anti-Trump protest will take place at 17:00 today (24 May) at Brussels North Station. According to the Facebook event, the participants are expected to be tens of thousands,
writes Denitsa Tsekova.

The march is named “Trump not welcome’ and is organized by four University of Ghent students in response to Donald Trump’s visit on 25 May. President Trump is coming to Belgium for the NATO summit and is expected to arrive in Belgium this afternoon (24 May).

The organizers of the event say, “This protest march is directed against Trump and his billionaire cabinet. This is a march for peace and against military adventures, for the preservation of our planet and the environment, for the respect for human rights of all humans, for the struggle against sexism, racism and discrimination.”

The traffic in Brussels is going to be disrupted. Metro stations Arts-Loi, Schuman, Trône, Louise and Porte de Namur will be closed from Wednesday 14:30 until Thursday 16:30. There will be also disruption of the transportation between Zaventem Airport and the centre of Brussels.

The planned protest may also disrupt the traffic in Brussels. The demonstration is supposed to make a loop around Brussels starting and finishing at Brussels North Station.
