Police clear out crack cocaine drug users from site in northern Paris
Paris police arrived in Paris on Wednesday (5 October) to remove a crack cocaine user encampment that had plagued the capital's north for many years, according to a statement by the French Interior Ministry.
The government of President Emmanuel Macron is looking to address concerns about rising crime and insecurity throughout France with the decision to demolish Square Forceval in the 19th arrondissement.
In the past, police have removed the site from the area but drug pushers and users moved back later to the same location. This area has been called Crack Hill by French media.
