US warned Russian ambassador over Ukraine nuclear plant last week - State Department

Russia's Ambassador to Washington Anatoly Antonov (pictured) was warned by the United States against Moscow's escalating war in Ukraine. The ambassador also asked that Russia cease military operations near Europe's largest nuclear power station during a meeting last Wednesday, a spokesperson for the State Department said.
Antonov visited the department on 18 August. The US called Russia to cease military operations near Ukraine's nuclear facilities, and to give Ukraine full control over the Zaporizhzhya power plant, the spokesperson said in an email statement.
