ROC 'High Level Civil Service Training Course' held in Brussels
The Republic of China (ROC) Civil Service Protection and Training Commission (CSPTC) and the Belgian Training Institute of the Federal Administration (TIFA) organized a two-week training course from 8-19 September in Brussels.
This is the second time the two agencies have co-operated. Thirty-seven senior officials from different ROC government institutions, headed by CSPTC Director Hsu Shiow-chuen, attended the training programme. Hsu hopes that ROC officials can find out how Belgian and EU bodies work and how they develop public policy. The course was officially openend by TIFA Director Sandra Schillemans and ROC Representative to the EU and Belgium Kuo-yu Tung. Tung hopes that this experience will broaden horizons and inspire innovation, so as to increase the competitiveness of Taiwan.
The participants will also visit several Belgian and European ministries and institutions and complete workshops on leadership, innovation and conflict management, as well as global competitiveness strategies.
