Republic of Korea to join Horizon Europe under Transitional Arrangement
As of 1 January 2025, the Republic of Korea joins Horizon Europe, opening new opportunities for researchers and unlocking potential for collaboration.
Under transitional arrangement, the European Union welcomes researchers and organisations from the Republic of Korea to participate in the calls and activities of Pillar II of the Horizon Europe programme from Work Programme 2025 onwards.
This transitional arrangement follows the successful conclusion of negotiations between the Commission and the Government of the Republic of Korea regarding Pillar II of Horizon Europe programme.
The signing of the Association Agreement is expected to take place in 2025, pending the completion of all necessary validations on both sides.
The transitional arrangement is set out in the General Annexes and apply to legal entities established in the republic of Korea since its association to the Programme is considered as imminent (the updated list of Horizon Europe participants can be found in the Programme Guide).
