#Commission appoints new Head of Representation in Paris
The European Commission appointed Isabelle Jégouzo as the new Head of the European Commission Representation in Paris on Monday (14 March 2016). She will take up office on 16 March 2016 bringing over twenty years of experience in the field of justice and European affairs to the post.
Jégouzo is currently Deputy General Secretary of the General Secretariat for European Affairs (SGAE) which she joined in October 2012. Specifically, she is in charge of Justice and Internal affairs. SGAE reports directly to the French Prime Minister.
Jégouzo was awarded a Master in European Law in 1985 from Paris I Panthéon-Sorbonne University. She was admitted at the French National School for the Judiciary in 1987, after studying at the Paris Institute of Political Studies.
She started her legal carrier as a public prosecutor at the Court of Rouen from 1989 to 1991, continued in the Ministry of Employment and the Ministry of Justice in France from 1991 to 1994. Then, she was responsible for International relations at the French National School for the Judiciary in 1994-2000.
Jégouzo served as counsellor in the Permanent Representation of France to the European Union in Brussels from 2002 to 2003.
She also worked in the Directorate-General for Justice, Freedom and Security at the European Commission in Brussels from both 2000 to 2002 and 2004 to 2010, and she was appointed to the European Anti-Fraud Office (OLAF) as Head of the secretariat of the Supervisory Committee in 2010, then Head of Unit responsible for training in 2011, Head of Unit responsible for mutual assistance and intelligence and Head of Unit responsible for Fraud Prevention from 2011 to 2012.
