In a gala evening attended by Greek Deputy Foreign Minister Dimitris Kourkoulas (pictured, right), MEP Slavi Binev and more than 200 journalists and lobbyists,  at Press Club Brussels Europe, EU Reporter Publisher Colin Stevens (pictured, left) highlighted his plans to make EU Reporter the most dynamic, transparent, incisive and informative EU-affairs website in the capital of Europe, ahead of the 2014 EU elections.

DSCN1283Deputy Foreign Minister Kourkoulas said that he was looking forward to the supportive but also critical reportage that EU Reporter was to provide, as Greece took the helm of the EU "in one of the most critical periods in the EU's history, as the continent slowly but surely emerges from the financial crisis".

DSCN1271Press Club Brussels Europe Executive Director Laurent Brihay (pictured above) thanked all invitees and the Hellenic EU Presidency, which runs until the end of May 2014, and which kindly provided the fine wines, beer and food enjoyed on the evening.

DSCN1282Expressing his satisfaction with the evening, Colin Stevens said: "Beyond the Union's borders, citizens battle at barricades to secure European values, and, inside the Union, the struggle will be fought at the ballot box in May. The EU's values are facing their greatest ever challenge from candidates opposed to the European project - the evening was a fantastic opportunity to reach out to our readers, and inform them of our exciting plans for 2014."
