#DaphneCaruanaGailizia - European Parliament agrees to new prize for investigative journalism

The Bureau of the European Parliament on 16 December decided to create a prize for investigative journalism named after the murdered Maltese journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia (pictured).
MEPs supported the creation of a prize in 2019 in their resolution of 15 November 2017 on the Rule of Law in Malta.
The decision comes as court proceedings in Malta reveal the close relationship between Maltese Prime Minister Joseph Muscat's chief of staff Keith Schrembi and Yorgen Fenech. Fenech is currently charged with complicity in the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia.
