Schulz congratulates Grybauskaitė on re-election as Lithuania leader

dalia1European Parliament President Martin Schulz made the following statement on the re-election of Dalia Grybauskaitė as President of the Republic of Lithuania: "I congratulate President Grybauskaitė on winning the second term in office. She has proved to be a reliable and constructive leader in the European Union and a strong president, leading the country through the economic crisis.

"I wish President Grybauskaitė all the best in meeting the tough challenges ahead ranging from keeping the economy on a recovery path to ensuring the sense of security among citizens who feel threatened by the high tensions in the region.

"I am confident that Lithuania's expected entry into the eurozone will contribute to the feeling of safety and prosperity."
