2 April marked the International Fact-Checking Day, and Eurostat provides a range of key media and fact-checker support services to help journalists and fact-checkers access reliable data for accurate reporting. If you are using Eurostat’s data in your work, here’s how we can assist you:

  • Stay informed: add Eurostat’s release calendar to your calendar application to always keep track of data releases and news relevant to your field. You can also request to receive the weekly calendar by e-mail: [email protected]. 
  • Ask for support: Eurostat’s media and fact-checker support team can provide you with custom data extractions and explanations, with responses generally within 24 hours to help you meet deadlines. Contact us at [email protected]. 
  • Access fresh economic data: sign up for the euro indicators, general economic statistics on the EU and euro area. Daily news items provide a glimpse into the newly released data. 
  • Expand your knowledge and engage with experts: participate in Eurostat’s training sessions for journalists and fact-checkers, announced on our social media channels Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram and X. Learn directly from Eurostat’s experts through our podcast series Stats in a Wrap and thematic webinars and mini-webinars.
