he European Union Agency for Railways is revising the technical provisions related to the interface between the train and the platform, with the goal of increasing independent accessibility.

The European Commission has required that the European Union Agency for Railways revises the technical provisions related to the interface between the train and the platform in the Persons with Disabilities and with Reduced Mobility Technical Spefications of Interoperability (PRM TSI). The objective is to increase independent accessibility by more harmonised gradual achievement of level access.

To achieve this, the Agency has established a specific working group to analyse the current situation and identify the types of activities that can be performed to improve it.

To this end a web survey was prepared, that is now addressed to users associations using the EUSurvey tool. It includes a series of questions with possibility to provide comments.

Here is the link to the survey.

The survey is open until 11 July 2025 23h59 CET. Respondents may save their survey replies as draft and complete the submission at their convenience. Associations should centralise each individual response into one single submission per association.

In case of questions, you may contact the ERA project team via email at [email protected]
