EU to invest €700m in #CleanAndInnovativeMobility

European Commission proposes to invest €695.1 million in 49 key projects aimed at developing a clean and innovative mobility infrastructure in Europe for all modes of transport. The investments will come from the Connecting Europe Facility (CEF), the EU's financial mechanism to support the development and modernization of infrastructure, and is expected to leverage up to € 2.4 billion public and private investments. The selected projects will provide infrastructure for increased use of alternative fuels, electric and hydrogen cars, modernize air traffic management in Europe and develop inland waterway and rail transport. By supporting the selected projects, the Commission is realizing the objectives set out in its mobility package Europe On The Movewhich aims to help the EU and European industries and to become a world leader in innovation, digitization and decarbonization. Transport Commissioner Violeta Bulc said: "These projects focus on strategic sections of the Trans-European Transport Network (TEN-T) to ensure the EU's added value and impact in order to guarantee European added value and impact, which will allow us to accelerate further our transition to clean and low-emission technologies, mobility across Europe and to make the EU's employment, growth and investment."
