Sakharov Prize 2013 award ceremony

Malala Yousafzai, the 16-year old Pakistani girl campaigner for girls’ right to education and 2013 laureate of the Sakharov Prize for freedom of thought, will receive her prize from Parliament President Martin Schulz at a ceremony in Strasbourg, on 20 November at 12h CET. Yousafzai is the youngest laureate ever to receive the European Parliament prize for freedom of thought, which was established in 1988.
More than 20 former laureates will be present in the plenary chamber for the award ceremony as part of their programme in Strasbourg related to the celebration of the Sakharov Prize's 25th anniversary.
