Training programs for EU officials open for application

Chinese-Language-ProgramTwo annual training programmes sponsored by the Taiwan Ministry of Education have now opened for applications. These programs are tailored to EU officials interested in learning the Mandarin language or getting to know Taiwan.

The Mandarin Training Programme takes place 11-20 August 2014 in Taipei. It focuses on developing participants’ Mandarin language skills through a combination of classes and extracurricular activities, offering an in-depth and well-rounded experience. The Taiwan Study Seminar takes place 18-22 August 2014 in Taipei and aims at broadening participants’ knowledge on political, economic, social and cultural developments in Taiwan.

Further information and application forms can be downloaded from the website of the Taipei Representation Office in the EU and Belgium. To complete the application procedure, applicants should submit the completed application form (with a photo in jpg file), a letter of recommendation, as well as a CV (maximum 2 pages) by 20 April 2014 to [email protected].

Taiwan film at BIFFF

This year, Taiwan is again participating in the Brussels International Fantastic Film Festival (BIFFF), taking place from 8-20 April. The film The Apostles by Taiwan director Joe Chien will be screened on Wednesday 9 April at 20h in the Centre for Fine Arts (Bozar), Ravensteinstraat 23, Brussels.
