#BrusselsAttacks: Belgium transport minister resigns
The Belgian transport minister Jacqueline Galant has resigned over accusations she ignored lapses in security at Brussels airport before the attacks of 22 March.
Galant, member of the Mouvement Réformateur (MR), resigned following accusation from both oppositions and press that she knew about the security problems of the airport since at least January 2015.
Apparently she and her cabinet knew about the security lapses of Zaventem airport since a Commission's report of early 2015 but didn't strengthen security. A first meeting to discuss the security lapses in the airport had been scheduled 23 March 2015 and was attended by the vice-minister of transport.
Belgian Prime Minister Charles Michel accepted Galant's resignation.
