Juncker to visit May in London for #Brexit talks
European Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker (pictured) is set to travel to London on Wednesday (3 May) to discuss the upcoming negotiations over the terms of Britain’s exit from the bloc, Juncker’s office said on Thursday (27 April).
The visit comes ahead of a summit on April 29 where leaders of the remaining 27 EU member states are set to approve EU guidelines on Brexit negotiations.
“This was an invitation specifically by British Prime Minister Theresa May in order to discuss the Article 50 process,” said Mina Andreeva, a spokeswoman for the European Commission.
Juncker will be accompanied by Michel Barnier, the European Commission’s chief negotiator on Brexit.
