Trainees at the European ParliamentFancy seeing how an international, multilingual institution like the European Parliament works on a daily basis? Apply for a traineeship and gain hands-on experience of EU decision-making.

The Parliament is an important forum for political debate and decision-making at the EU level. MEPs are directly elected by voters in all EU countries to represent the interests of Europeans and to make sure other EU institutions are working democratically.

To provide opportunities for vocational training and an insight into its work, Parliament has a traineeship programme allowing university graduates aged 18 and over to get a taster of a career with the EU.

Applicants for Parliament’s Schuman traineeship must:
  • Be aged 18+;
  • fulfil the language requirement;
  • have a university level diploma;
  • not have worked for more than two consecutive months within an EU institution or body;
  • and not have carried out a study visit in the European Parliament’s secretariat six months prior to the beginning of the traineeship.

To apply for a Schuman traineeship at the European Parliament, submit an application on our traineeship offers page by 30 June. Successful applicants will work at the Parliament from 1 October 2019 until 28 February 2020.
