Schulz wishes rapid recovery to Alexander Alvaro MEP following car crash in Germany 23 February 2013 The President of the European Parliament Martin Schulz made the following brief statement following the news that Alexander Alvaro MEP, Vice-President of the EP has been involved in car crash on the A1 in Germany motorway between Burscheid and Leverkusen.
"I have been informed of the car crash involving Alexander Alvaro, I am deeply shocked by the horrific accident. On behalf of the European Parliament and his colleagues, I wish him a speedy and full recovery. All my thoughts and hopes are with my good friend and close colleague. My condolences also go out to the loved ones of the persons killed in this tragic accident."
