Commissioner Breton on official visit in the Baltic States

Internal Market Commissioner Thierry Breton (pictured) is traveling to the Baltic States for three days of meetings in Estonia, Latvia and Lithuania to express support to those member states geographically close to Russia. The topics on the agenda are defence, cybersecurity, disinformation and the impact of the conflict on the Single Market. On 2 March, Commissioner Breton was in Tallin for a meeting with Defence Minister Kalle Laanet, with whom he visited a Cyber Security Exercises and Training Centre. After the visit, the Commissioner met Foreign Affairs Minister Eva-Maria Liimets, followed by a meeting with the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Jonatan Vseviov. On Thursday morning (3 March), the Commissioner will exchange with the Estonian Prime Minister, Kaja Kallas. In the afternoon, he will be in Riga to meet the Prime Minister, Krišjānis Kariņš, and the Minister of Defence, Artis Pabriks. On Friday morning, the Commissioner will be in Lithuania for a meeting with Prime Minister Ingrida Šimonytė, followed by a joint press conference, which can be followed on EbS.
