Commissioner Brunner travels to Spain and Italy to discuss internal affairs and migration priorities
This week, Internal Affairs and Migration Commissioner Magnus Brunner (pictured) will be in Spain and Italy for a series of bilateral meetings with national authorities on internal security, migration, and border management.
Commissioner Brunner met with the Minister of Interior of Spain, Fernando Grande-Marlaska; and, in the afternoon, he will meet with the Minister for Inclusion, Social Security and Migration, Elma Saiz, and the Minister of Foreign Affairs, European Union and Cooperation, José Manuel Albares. They will exchange on current priorities in the field of security and migration, including the implementation of the Pact on Migration and Asylum, the new common approach on returns, the upcoming Internal Security Strategy and international cooperation. The Commissioner also participated in the event ‘Securing the Future: looking at EU Policies through the lens of security'.
Commissioner Brunner will travel to Italy. He will meet the Prime Minister, Giorgia Meloni, the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister for Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, the Minister of Interior, Matteo Piantedosi, and the Minister for Labour and Social Policies, Marina Elvira Calderone. They will exchange views on the upcoming Internal Security Strategy, the new common approach on returns, cooperation with partner countries on migration management, and the implementation of the Pact on Migration and Asylum. The Commissioner will also visit the Italian National Cybersecurity Agency.
