Foreign Affairs MEPs to debate and vote on EU-Ukraine association deal

The Foreign Affairs Committee will debate and vote Monday afternoon (8 September) on whether to recommend that the European Parliament give its assent to the EU association and free trade agreement with Ukraine. The draft proposal, prepared by Jacek Saryusz-Wolski (EPP, PL), recommends that Parliament give its consent to concluding the deal.The full house will vote next week in Strasbourg on whether to ratify the agreement.The deal would apply provisionally from 1 November this year, provided that the also Ukrainian Parliament (Verkhovna Rada) also backs the deal next week in Kiev.
