global-prevention-initiativThe aim of the World Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus Day (25 October) is to raise awareness and understanding and to advocate and promote the rights of persons with these conditions.

On this occasion, the International Federation for Spina Bifida and Hydrocephalus is glad to share with you the upcoming Global Prevention Initiative that will be officially launched by HRH Princess Astrid of Belgium on 28 October at the Turning Points conference. You can check Facebook to be updated on the possibility to follow the conference online.

The Global Prevention Initiative (GPI) aims to tackle the primary prevention of neural tube defects (NTDs) and hydrocephalus as a united global community. Its goal is to unite all relevant organisations, NGOs, governments, policy-makers, health services, health professionals and individuals around the world to maximize the risk reduction of NTDs and hydrocephalus.
