NATO warns Russia of 'severe consequences' in case of a nuclear strike
NATO said on Tuesday (27 September) that any use of Russian nuclear weapons is unacceptable and would lead to severe consequences. This statement came after Russian President Vladimir Putin issued a stark nuclear warning to Ukraine.
NATO Secretary-General Jens Sloltenberg stated that any use of nuclear weapons was unacceptable and would completely change the nature and course of the conflict. Russia must also know that a nuclear war can't be won and must not be fought.
"When we hear that kind of Russian nuclear rhetoric repeatedly and again, it is something we must take seriously. Therefore, we are sending the clear message that Russia will suffer severe consequences."
