Zelenskiy says Ukraine preparing for all defence scenarios
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskiy said on Sunday (18 Dercember) that Ukraine's border security was a priority and that Belarus was prepared for any scenario with Russia or its ally Belarus.
Zelenskiy said in his nightly video address that protecting our borders with Russia and Belarus is our main priority. "We prepare for all defense scenarios."
Zelenskiy's remarks were made on the eve Russian President Vladimir Putin's visit to Belarus. This was amid discussions about a possible new offensive from Moscow and suggestions that it might originate in Belarus.
Zelenskiy appealed to the West to help Ukraine build effective air defenses in his address. His forces are holding Bakhmut, an eastern Ukrainian town where fierce fighting can be seen.
