MEPs to debate #CETA trade agreement with business, trade unions and farmers
MEPs will debate the pros and cons of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) between the EU and Canada with farmers, businesses and trade union representatives from around 9h on Wednesday morning (12 October). EU trade ministers are to decide on 18 October in Brussels on the approval and provisional application of the agreement. CETA cannot enter into force without European Parliament approval.
Invited speakers are: Pekka Pesonen, Secretary General, Copa Cogeca; Luisa Santos, Director International Relations, Business Europe; Ian Pritchard, Secretary General, Architects’ Council of Europe and Penny Clarke, Deputy Secretary General, European Federation of Public Services Unions.
