Statement by Commission President Jean-Claude Juncker following death of Leo Tindemans
"It is with great sorrow that I have learned about the loss of a great European and my friend Leo Tindemans.
"As early as 1976 the famous Tindemans Report outlined the way for a Union close to the peoples of Europe - we seek to continue on this path today.
"Leo Tindemans was a great visionary. With his foresightedness while chairing the reflection group named after him, Leo Tindemans made an important and lasting contribution to the reconciliation of European history and European geography.
"We will miss him."
Jean-Claude Juncker
