#ECYP2017: 10th edition of Charlemagne Youth Prize open for applications
Young people who make a difference deserve recognition. That is why the European Parliament and the International Charlemagne Prize Foundation award the Charlemagne Youth Prize every year. Today (31 October) we open applications for the 10th edition. If you are between 16 and 30 years old and run a project with a European dimension, do not hesitate to apply for our competition. The winning projects will benefit from recognition and media coverage as well as prize money to further develop the initiative.
The three winning projects will be chosen from the 28 projects nominated by national juries in the individual EU member states. This year the financial rewards are higher than in previous years: the first prize will be awarded €7,500, second prize €5,000 and third prize €2,500.
Representatives of all 28 national winning projects will be invited to the Charlemagne Youth Prize award ceremony in Aachen in May 2017.
The rulesProjects must meet several criteria in order to qualify. They have to promote European and international understanding, foster the development of a shared sense of European identity and integration, as well as serve as a role model for young people living in Europe and offer practical examples of Europeans living together as one community.
Should you still have questions, you can write directly to the prize secretariat at [email protected].
