#Huawei – Helping to make 5G the most secure standard ever

| June 21, 2019

Thanks to collaboration across the ICT ecosystem, 5G has become the most secure standard for communications ever built, with Huawei contributing important expertise. During a debate held at the Huawei Cyber Security Transparency Centre in Brussels on 20 June, Huawei presented its latest White Paper on 5G security.

The paper argues that 5G is far more secure than its predecessors, thanks to collaboration across the entire industry ecosystem. It highlights the role of innovative companies across the globe in this upgrade. Huawei’s expert knowledge and cutting-edge innovations form an essential part of this ongoing effort.

“Huawei is a company with competence centres around the world. This truly global network of excellence is the backbone of Huawei’s cybersecurity standard,” said Mika Lauhde, Vice-President of Cyber Security & Privacy and Global Public Affairs at Huawei, presenting the paper.

The commitment to sharing expertise and boosting scientific knowledge across the global community is at the heart of Huawei’s new European cartoon channel What makes it tick? on YouTube, which was presented at the event.

“It is a platform for sharing our knowledge and our passion about science and critical thinking. We hope to build a community of science-lovers in the process,” said Eric Cui, Chief Content Officer at Huawei’s Brussels Office. “Science has no borders, because it can only advance through knowledge-sharing and collaboration.”
