It’s business as usual despite #Brexit says #DFDS

DFDS, which operates services out of Calais and Dunkirk to the United Kingdom, has posted a message for travellers on cross-channel ferries.

It says, “You can rest assured that your ferry crossing will go smoothly and that you can book your upcoming trips with confidence.”

The UK has now entered a transition period until 31 December at the earliest. During this period DFDS says that “nothing will change and you will still be able to travel to Europe as you always have done.”

In summary, the guidance says that throughout 2020:

·       Your passport will still be valid;

·       your European Health Insurance Card (EHIC) will still be valid;

·       you won’t need to apply for a visa;

·       you don’t need to apply for an International Driving Permit;

·       pet travel regulations remain the same, and;

·       mobile phone roaming will continue to be free throughout the EU.

A DFDS spokesman said: “Don’t let Brexit scupper your holiday plans. Book now and travel with confidence.

“Just because we’ve left the European Union, it doesn’t mean your travels need to change. In fact, travel arrangements will stay exactly the same until the end of the year at the earliest.”

DFDS has one of the largest ferry networks in Europe, with routes operating to Denmark, Norway, mainland Europe and even the Baltic regions, including major cities such as Amsterdam, Calais and Dunkirk. It was voted Europe’s leading ferry operator from 2012-2019 and the World’s Leading Ferry Operator 2011-2019.
