Vice President #Schinas and Commissioner #Johansson in Madrid

Promoting our European Way of Life Vice President Margaritis Schinas, and Home Affairs Commissioner Ylva Johansson, will both be in Madrid, Spain, today (17 February). As part of the programme of bilateral engagement with member states to prepare the New Pact on Migration and Asylum, they will meet Home Affairs Minister Fernando Grande-Marlaska, as well as Inclusion, Social Security and Migration Minister José Luis Escrivá Belmonte.

Vice President Schinas and Commissioner Johansson will also visit the Guardia Civil's Coordination Centre for rescue operations at sea as well as the National Police Corps equipment at Madrid Airport. Vice-President Schinas will visit the integrated centre for vocational training ‘Professor Raúl Vázquez' and Commissioner Johansson will hold a meeting with civil society organisations. On Tuesday (18 February), Vice-President Schinas will meet Manuel Gago Areces, Vice President of the Spanish Confederation of Directors and Executives, and exchange views with Madrid Mayor José Luis Martínez-Almeida.
