Artificial Intelligence (AI) is a new technology that is quite similar to machine learning, in fact artificial intelligence sometimes works in concert with machine learning. AI is essentially a computer program that has the ability to mimic human intelligence, and also evolve based on available data. It is important to note that machine learning works in concert with AI to improve performance through the gathering and collation of data — this means that AI depends on sufficient data to be able to work satisfactorily. Perhaps this is one of the reasons that the gambling industry has latched on this incredible invention. The gambling industry is one industry that is always analyzing user and customer's data to have a seamless and customer-friendly operation. Online casinos in particular have incorporated AI and machine learning into their system to improve efficiency, fairness, and customer experience.

Below are some ways artificial intelligence is used in online casinos:

1. Customer service: the one thing that keeps the customer’s minds at rest and gives them a sense of security is a fast and efficient customer service. Artificial intelligence through the invention of chat bots or smart bots offers users a more efficient and personalised customer service experience. The bots analyse user data and in-app footprint to provide a faster and easier solution to complaints.

2. Prevents cheating: cheating in a casino whether online or land-based is quite common, and while there are security protocols to screen and catch cheating customers in land-based casinos there was no such thing at online casinos until artificial intelligence. With an AI machine, casinos are able to catch cheating users, and suspend them. The AI does this by collecting data and analysing winning trends to discover cheating users. However, the AI leaves no consideration for luck patterns and could therefore flag a lucky streak as cheating.

3. Preventing fraudulent activities: another important thing that AI does is to spot and flag fraudulent transactions. This is a really innovative solution because online casinos sometimes fall prey to fraudulent activities, but with the incorporation of artificial intelligence into their systems, they can easily detect and prevent fraud. The AI does this by comparing the user's behaviour with its models of fraudulent credit card transactions.

4. Data collection: data collection is critical to the smooth running and efficient operation of an online casino. AI collects data from past and present gambling activities to predict future behaviours. The analysis of such data also helps the casinos pinpoint areas where they need to improve service delivery. Additionally, casinos can also improve user experience through AI data collection, and analysis functions.

5. Monitoring, and regulation enforcement: online casinos have rules and regulations that they are unable to monitor and enforce on their own. For example, people under the age of 18 are not permitted to sign up and play casino games, but there's no real way for casinos to enforce this regulation without physically seeing the user. But with AI and machine learning incredible adapting and predictive skills casinos can effectively detect underage users. Computer programming does this by collating and analysing a user's data and behaviour, then compares this data to its predictive models.
