Ukraine maintains control of the bulk of its airspace. The British defence ministry stated Wednesday that Ukraine still controls the airspace. It also said that Russia has not succeeded in suppressing its air defences or destroying its air force.

It stated on Twitter that Russia has limited air access to Ukraine's north and west, which limits offensive actions to deep strike with stand-off weaponry.

The ministry stated that Russian air activity was primarily directed at the eastern and southern parts of Ukraine, supporting Russian ground forces.

According to British military intelligence, Russia continues to target Ukrainian military assets as well as logistics infrastructure throughout the country.

It noted a higher risk of civilian casualties and stated that most Russian air strikes on the Ukrainian port of Mariupol used unguided, free-falling bombs.

These weapons decrease Russia's ability of effectively discriminate during strikes and increase the risk for civilian casualties."
