Ahead of the State of the Union speech, the Commission publishes an overview of the results of the past year
Ahead of the State of the Union address to be delivered on 15 September by President Ursula von der Leyen, the Commission has presented an overview of its work and successes during the year. Available in all EU languages, the publication describes the measures taken to deal with the pandemic and to deliver on the political priorities of the Commission. The two areas particularly highlighted are the Commission's relentless work to end the pandemic, and to revive our economies through 'NextGenerationEU', while making them greener, more digital and more resilient.
The brochure also covers the Commission's action on the international scene. During the past year, the Commission also launched the Conference on the Future of Europe, which is also featured in the publication. It gives the floor to citizens so that they can express their views directly on the development of the Union. The publication also includes a calendar of major events and developments since September 2020.
