Commissioners Schmit and Ferreira in Poland to launch Cohesion Policy programmes for 2021-2027

Today (8 February), Commissioners for Jobs and Social Rights, Nicolas Schmit and for Cohesion and Reforms, Elisa Ferreira (pictured) are in Poland to launch the €76.5 billion Cohesion Policy programmes for the 2021-2027 funding period.
In Warsaw, the commissioners will officially open the new funding period, together with the Prime Minister, Mateusz Morawiecki and the Minister of Development Funds and Regional, Policy Grzegorz Puda. At this occasion, they will meet with the 16 Marshals to discuss the Cohesion Policy investment strategies in the regions.
Afterwards, the Commissioners will meet with non-governmental organisations to discuss progress in the integration of displaced persons from Ukraine.
On Thursday, Commissioner Ferreira will be in Gdańsk for the inauguration ceremony of the 2021-2027 Pomerania Regional Programme at the European Solidarity Centre.
A joint press conference with the Pomeranian Voivodeship Marshall will take place at 11h30 CET.
Finally, Commissioner Ferreira will visit several Cohesion funded projects at the Gdańsk University of Technology, the revitalization of the Lower Town, the Łaźnia Center for Contemporary Art and the Gdańsk Shipyards.
